Where Art and Architecture Meet

The relationship between art and architecture is often a symbiotic one – a unique interaction of two mediums working together to achieve a balance between the suggestive and the functional. Whether it is expressing a schematic design or articulating a sense of place, art can play a crucial role at every stage of the architectural process. We spoke to artist Orlanda Broom about the process of creating powerful and emotive works to adorn grand spaces around the world and to three Broadway Malyan colleagues, Margarida Fleming, Pedro Loureiro and Pedro Alves, whose exceptional artistic talents play a crucial design development role for the practice.
